Week 2

Week 2:

For week 2 we began by generating small thumbnail sketches of objects relating to the beach, our target audience of surfers and pollution in the ocean.

We then began generating more thumbnail ideas for our poster and thought about ways we cold incorporate more of an idea of hosting an event to get people to come along to the beach clean up:

Once we had two ideas we put them on to the computer:
This idea was to show a group of people working together to show a community helping out at the beach whilst incorporating a surfing theme. This idea is more fun and child like.

These two posters are a more photographic approach showing what the future will hold if we dont clean up our beaches. If this is the idea we run with we will take photos at Lyall Bay.
This is a development from the future of our ocean idea, using hyperbole.

Week 1

This week we went over the brief and had an overview of Koha.

The first exercise we did was taking a Simpsons character and using it as our target audience to persuade them to attend the event we were organising.
Our character was Homer Simpson.
We channeled his love of food and his family to create posters that would be applicable to not only him if the context was changed slightly.

On the tuesday we had chosen our topic of cleaning up our coasts and began brainstorming.
We've decided to aim our campaign to active people that enjoy water sports, more specifically surfing.

We brainstormed our audience and deciding we were targetting:
- Teens, encouraged to keep the beach clean for their own futures
- Young families, keeping the beach clean for future generations/their kids
- Seasonal/ Experienced surfers, both current and future surfers

Who surf for:
- Physical activity

- Fun/Entertainment
- Social/ Family
- Image/Attitude

We've also listed tangible and intangible aspects associated with our theme.

Over the week we sketched a series of thumbnails and have chosen 6 to draw at a4.
